Interpretation
Aircraft requiring de-icing on the main or GAC apron must notify their handling or de-icing agent as soon as possible and advise ATC on initial contact. Aircraft without a contracted agent may contact Vienna Ice on 131.630 MHz or +43 1 7007 22135. The standby area is parking positions E48–E99; de-icing South uses F43, F45, F47, F51, F53, F55, F57 and F59, and de-icing North uses F42, F44, F46, F48 and F50. A380 and An-124 aircraft should expect F55; B747-8 aircraft should expect F45, F46 or F55. Aircraft entering the standby area must approach from the south and follow mandatory marshaller guidance; an instructed stop there is intermediate only, so engines must remain running. Marshaller guidance onward to de-icing South is mandatory. Aircraft cleared to de-icing North via TL40 Blue, Orange or Center should expect marshaller guidance abeam IHP Blue 1 or Orange 1. Instructions are given by follow-me-car display or hand signals.
